Mr.Moneybags
It was a well lit corner office with a beautiful view of the vast expanse known to people as the Atlantic Ocean. This office was currently occupied by Moneybags. Mr. Moneybags that is. He was a fat man, lazily dressed and his skin, his skin was the most awful white color with strange red splotches. Moneybags was a particularly well off man. Well off meaning rich. Rich meaning he owns lots of things. To say this man was rich in spirit or life or love would be just plain wrong. He was monetarily wealthy and that was all he cared about. It was five o' clock and he was preparing to leave for the day. First he shutdown his iMac, checks his emails, Facebook, and whatever else he was interested in on his iPhone. He then shut off his office light and walked towards the exit. He went to the back up computer to back up all his files for the day. He did so as usual sending off all his data to the iCloud. The last thing he does is check the bank statement at the reception desk computer. This was a normal day for Mr. Moneybags. This day however would be the last normal day for Mr. Moneybags for quite a long time.
Hey class!! So I just went with the very simple look of plain white with simple black text. I did this because I wanted the class and any other viewers of this blog to focus on the content. The title of the blog is very bland and I may end up changing it. It does wholly relate to the narrative however. Somnambulism is a fancy long word for sleepwalking. The reason for the sleepwalking might be very obvious for you after you read the text but maybe not. The connection between the picture and the text is they are both conveying a message about technology. What is that message? That is for you to decide. Mr. Moneybags is the only character who has been introduced and yes his name is very representative of his nature. let me know what you think.

ReplyDeleteI am analyzing and critiquing the blog technological somnambulism. The layout and aesthetic aspect of the blog is simple, organized and sterile. The first thing I saw after the page loaded was a small photograph and a blog post beneath so it was easy on the eye to know exactly where and what to focus on. Color usage of darker shades, smokey greys, and the font used is easy on the eye and really works well with the context and theme of the blog. The first blog post was informative of space and time from the context of the technology and all of the devices Mr. Moneybags was using to work from. Mr. Moneybags character was introduced nicely to to develop the concept. As I read through I began to wonder if Mr. Moneybags is intentionally a metaphor because of the silly name and plot developed by the author. I wasn’t exactly sure of where this was taking place and would’ve liked to see more telling of the surrounding. The style of writing was suspenseful and factual, with step-by-step procedures Mr. Moneybags did which fulfilled some good imagery. The scene was not as developed as I would have liked, however, that may not be the focus of where this blog may be headed. I think a cool and prevalent way I can associate this blog with mine, is by bringing in a character as this does. I haven’t seen many blogs that display a place, time or idea through a story with characters. My current blog is strictly images and ideas and doesn’t pull any character developed into the plot. It would be very interesting to take a little bit of a turn and use the character Mr. Moneybags to describe the typical alpha male living the luxurious high life Los Angeles is infamous for. I intend on having Mr. Moneybags be treated as a metaphor as well. With California’s has a very dysfunctional economic state and “Mr. Moneybags” could perfectly demonstrate that money is power as argument and social issue in the place I chose to Blog about.
